ARMAC Magazine Issue 2 released with Featuring Victim Assistance Stories across ASEAN

Phnom Penh, 5 February 2021 – the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC) is pleased to announce the release of ARMAC Magazine (Issue 2). Titled Towards Integrated Victim Assistance Across ASEAN, the magazine features victim assistance stories contributed by national authorities, mine action related organisations. The stories showcase recent projects, programmes, case studies and accomplishments in the field of mine/explosive remnants of war (ERW) victim assistance.

This new edition builds on the success of the first issue, which was released in February 2020 and focused on Mine/ERW Risk Education. This release features a similar mix of contributions, offering a broad scope that looks at various forms of mine/ERW victim assistance in Southeast Asia.

Aspects of mine/ERW victim assistance that are covered in the Magazine include:

  1. Laws and Policies
  2. Data Collection
  3. Emergency and Ongoing Medical Care
  4. Physical Rehabilitation
  5. Psychological and Psycho-social Support
  6. Socio-economic Inclusion

With publication support by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF) through ARMAC’s recent “Enhance Victim Assistance Programmes in ASEAN Member States,” the Magazine received articles contributed by Danish Church Aid (DCA) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA), Humanity & Inclusion (HI), International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Cambodia and Myanmar, Mondol Metta Karuna Reflection Center (operated by the Jesuit Refugee Service – JRS, in Cambodia), Myanmar Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, the Sir Bobby Charlton Foundation (SBCF) in Cambodia, Thai Ministry of Social Development and Human Security through Thailand Mine Action Center, the Halo Trust, the Monitor, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Cambodia, Viet Nam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) and World Education (WE). Some original content was also provided by the ARMAC secretariat.

ARMAC greatly appreciate all the contributions from the aforesaid organisations/institutions, and support from the AKCF on the publication of the Magazine.
