14th Steering Committee Meeting and Handover
On 09 December 2020, the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC) convened its 14th Meeting of the Steering Committee, at ARMAC’s Headquarters in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Vu Quang Minh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Kingdom of Cambodia and attended by representatives from all ten ASEAN Member States, the Executive Director of ARMAC, and the Permanent Secretariat, physically and virtually.
This is the last Meeting to be held in 2020 under Viet Nam’s Chairmanship. The Meeting reviewed ARMAC’s 2020 progress, the implementation of the Friends of ARMAC, Center’s sustainability, and selection of ARMAC’s Vice Chairs in 2021.
In his closing remarks, H.E. Mr. Vu Quang Minh conveyed his appreciation to all SC Members for their excellent support and cooperation during Viet Nam’s Chairmanship and also took note with appreciation of Cambodia’s continued financial support and excellent contribution to the important work of ARMAC. Concluding the Meeting, H.E. Mr. Vu Quang Minh handed over the Chairmanship of ARMAC for 2021 to Brunei as represented by H.E. Mr. Pengiran Kasmirhan Pengiran Tahir, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
13th Steering Committee Meeting
On 1 September 2020, the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC) organized the 13th Meeting of the Steering Committee of ARMAC. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Vu Quang Minh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chair of the Steering Committee of ARMAC. Some Members of the Steering Committee, the Executive Director of ARMAC and AMS delegates attended at the ARMAC Permanent Secretariat, and some delegates attended via a video conference.
The outcomes of the meeting were highlighted with the decision on the recruitment of the new Executive Director of ARMAC and the establishment of Friends of ARMAC (FoA).

12th Steering Committee Meeting
On 9 June 2020, the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC) organized the 12th Meeting of the Steering Committee of ARMAC. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Vu Quang Minh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to the Kingdom of Cambodia and Chair of the Steering Committee of ARMAC. Some Members of the Steering Committee, the Executive Director of ARMAC and AMS delegates attended at the ARMAC Permanent Secretariat, and some delegates attended via a video conference.
The meeting noted ARMAC’s significant progress, in particular, on the increasing cooperation with the ASEAN Member States, donors and partners. Other key discussions include the Recruitment of the new Executive Director, Friends of ARMAC and Financial Sustainability of ARMAC.
